Did the society official track each member of the 144,000?

when i left witness land in the early 90's, i remember hearing that out of 144,000 anointed members that there were only 8 to 9 thousand left and then the end will come.. i'm suddenly curious.

the jw organization is one that puts emphasis on tracking, i.e., regular meeting attendance, current standing, field service hours, territory tracking, return visits, etc.

therefore, did the society ever try to track each and every member of the 144,000?

Back in the 1950's, 1960's, 1970's and further back, (but I never personally saw any older than that), on your Publisher Record Card, beside asking you if you were 'A' anointed or 'OT' other sheep, they asked if you owned a car.

@OP... Of course 'The Society' knew exactly how many professed to be 'Anointed Kings with Christ', all of them hoping to go straight off of a launching pad to their preferred place for 'special people' when they died.

WT is all a man made up business corporation, masquerading as a charity to shovel in the money for them and their financial advisor's, lawyers and other bottom feeders.

i was just wondering if any of those jw's who got their story told or featured as "a fine example" in the publications, if they ever left the org later?

i mean i know regular jw's would probably never hear about it but i thought maybe you guys might?

Demoted from elder to MS, anybody ever heard of this?

so a friend in a nearby hall told me their co came through, and in a hellish week of long meetings and inquisition overhauled the boe.

only one remains as elder, three were re-appointed as ms, and one, the cobe was deleted entirely.. two new elders were brought in as new secretary and cobe / watchtower conductor, respectively, and introduced to the congregation from the platform on sunday immediately following his second talk.

he reminded everybody of the authority he has and then named the new appointees.

My 2 cents: An Elder needs to have all the latest doctrinal changes in his head. He is the local go to guy that is supposed to have all the Bible (WT) answers. MS, can slip by a bit with this.

Maybe this CO has no sense of humor and at the Elder's meeting, started picking on brothers to answer his WT questions, and you better have the latest flip flop answer. I know I couldn't do it. Maybe some of the Elder's answered with last month's latest doctrinal beliefs. Not this month's. (Last month little kids could keep their ice cream money, this month they have to give it to the GB). lol

Oh what happy freedom to think one's own happy thoughts, than to be in Watchtard Land. lol

many brothers own businesses that a greatly supported by witness activities.

when local congregations need some service they will prefer to do business with a jw.

My KHall was doing a remodel, years ago. All trades were supposedly doing their work on the KHall for free, or so, we the congo, were told. When the hall was almost finished, out comes this brand new oak podium. Then it was announced that this beautiful (I didn't think it was beautiful) plain, all wood, (clumsy looking) no screws, piece of work, only cost the congo either $350.00 USD or $450.00 USD. (The raw wood at the time would not have been that much at all, so he was recovering his cost plus his time). Some of the brothes were beaming like it was their little junior that made it, others were like, questioning, why does he get paid for his "contribution" of work, and the rest of us are doing it free for Jehovah. I found out later that others were getting paid, under the table, too. Yes, the ones that were paid were those "top" Elders in the know.

Disgusting.

Does The Governing Body Have Enemies At Bethel?

i would think that a lot of resentment is building up for these for these guys at bethel even though it may not be discussed openly for fear of being abused by the gb in some way.. any way looking at their personality and the extreme phoniness of rubber mouth/face lett, and am#3, and the chicken shit coward leosch who won't even show up in court when subpoena'd to defend his faith or policies, and i'm sure they have many more undesirable traits that repel people instead of attract and that has to work its toll on relationships they have at bethel.. and this shunning thing i'm sure must really erk some at god's house and while they may not be free to voice their discontent i feel it must be building because these guys are complete nincompoops when it come to reality and the only way they know how to give direction is with fear and guilt which i'm sure is rubbing a lot of people the wrong way.. and let not forget the issues that are raise when they stole all the congregations savings and the pledge drive for more cash, ban on higher education, lawsuit pay out and etc.... what is this doing to the relation ship they have with legal and accounting i see trouble brewing right thier in the spiritual pair of dice..

Myself, I know of only one person with a voting share. He was a missionary, Branch Overseer and is still completely loyal, last I heard up to 5 years ago.

In October, before the Annual Meeting starts for everyone who has a personal ticket for entry, the first of that morning is for only elite JW's who have voting shares. This is their annual business meeting. If you cannot be at the Annual Business Meeting in person, there is a prozy to fill out and send in.

i almost posted this in the humor section, because honestly, i almost thought it was a joke.

my family and i were driving through a suburb of st. louis, missouri this afternoon on the way back to illinois and home.

i took a back road through a bedroom community and ended up on a 2 lane road that led me right past the last kingdom hall i attended in 2007 before i left for good.

it has been 2 and a half years since my departure from the religion.

i was told by my parents from the start that i would never speak to them until i returned to jehovah dog.

a few months later they told people they hoped i died before the end came, then all of this culminating in them telling my inactive / fading sister that they don't consider me a child anymore and they have given me up to satan.

Our hall is asking for money...

i guess the branch isn't happy with the amount being sent each month since we are way lower than our loan amount.

we now have to another financial survey to see the max amount that can be given.

it is "encouraged" for all to be in attendance and give much forethought and consideration to the amount you can donate each month.

WT is as bad as the Mafia. If you don't pay the Mafia, they (I hear) start with the knee caps, or chop off fingers. (I get my info from watching old movies). lol Also they threaten to burn down your business establishment.

WT soothes you with words like "Please accept our appreciation and thanks (slang, as in being friendly, just between me and you, instead of a formal thank you) in advance for the cooperation and hard work of you brothers in helping care for Christ's belongings". Major guilt trip but the people they are talking to are humble, non thinkers. (Not a slap in the face to them. I was in for a loooong time myself, so I am speaking from experience).

Oh, I wish I could wake every one up. :(

WT is shorting literature orders by congregation with a problem contributing enough for literature $3500 just for mags

at our meeting last night there was a talk about having run out of magazines for the last three months.

it's expected this will continue to happen.

the "branch" has not sent the requested number of magazines.

I know of a case, 30 plus years ago. The congo had run up a tab, and the brothers who usually pay it off (for everybody) decided to 'lovingly' allow the others to pitch in. So they waited. When the Circuit Overseer visited, he got mad, because having a congo in his circuit with a running late tab, made him look bad.

Sorry, I don't remember who paid it off, but it was shortly after that, the Circuit Overseer decided to close that KHall and build a new one, a 45 minute (bad winter road) away from the perfectly good (paid off) KHall on a good road and convenient to most everyone. That CO, then removed the main Elders for asking why they were closing down a perfectly good, and happy, KHall to build a new one, that was not easy for most to get to.

Aw. The loving ways of Holy Spit, I mean Spirit. lol
